1,064 PhilSys registrants in Guimaras acquire Landbank cash cards

A total of 1,064 Guimarasnon who completed the PhilSys Step 2 Registration acquired a Landbank Cash Card from the five PhilSys registration centers – Fixed Registration Center (FRC), Nueva Valencia, Jordan, Sibunag and San Lorenzo municipal registration centers.

On August 2, the Landbank of the Philippines Guimaras branch collaborated with the 6 PhilSys Registration Centers in Guimaras regarding the issuance of Cash Card to provide PhilSys registrants with formal access to basic banking and other financial services, as well as in strengthening the financial inclusion of Guimarasnons in both the public and private sectors.

Step 2 Registration at the Municipal Registration Center

The processing of Land Bank Cash Card is done after the capture of biometric information for the PhilSys step 2 registration.

“Registrants who do not have a bank account and willing to have one, shall proceed to the Landbank booth within the registration area for assessment and opening of bank account,” Losare said.

“However, those who have already completed the step 2 registration at an earlier date and has no land bank account yet may return to their designated registration centers and present their PhilSys Transaction slip as proof to open an account with the LANDBANK,” she added.

PhilSys Guimaras had registered 13,866 step 2 registrants on their 13 days of full operation, accomplishing 16.65 percent of the 83,256 target registrants for 2021.

Of the 13,886 step 2 registrants, 2,219 registrants were from Buenavista, 2,464 from Jordan, 2,374 from Fixed Registration Center, 1,157 in San Lorenzo and 1,690 in Sibunag, while 3,289 in Nueva Valencia.

Losare cited that a total of 1,106,142 ID cards were to be delivered by the Philpost from May 1 to July 31, 2021, of which 145,390 were for Western Visayas region.

“In coordination with the Provincial Health Office of Guimaras spearheaded by Dr. NL Cathrel Nava, the PSA staff and the PhilSys Registration Team are progressively being vaccinated to ensure safer National ID operations notwithstanding the stringent observance by the PhilSys Registration Team and the PSA staff of the safety and health protocol,” Losare said.
