11 alleged NPA supporters clear names

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Eleven persons tagged as rebel supporters surfaced to clear their names Wednesday at Brgy. Bungsuan, Dumarao, Capiz.

The 11 individuals identified only as Nene, Totong, Jun, Joe, Almer, Bata, Allan, Nonoy, Dan, Max and Dodoy, are all residents of said barangay and members of the Bungsuan Small Farmers Association (BSFA).

They came out to belie claims that they support the New People’s Army (NPA)

According to Punong Barangay Melchor Dampog of Bungsuan, the 11 persons were all farmers and were never linked to the underground movement.

The 11 individuals have pledged to support the program of the government against the rebels in their place.

Police Col Laudemer Llanera, Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) director, said the 11 individuals will undergo monitoring and assessment before they will be given certificates proving their non-connection with the rebel group.

“Balik Loob 2021” is a program of the government, Dumarao PNP under Police Captain Jhon Almarino N Bonior; Lt. Col. Ferjen T Turred of the 2nd Capiz Police Mobile Force Company (PMFC); and Lt. Col. Joseph Jason Estrada of the 12IB 3rd Infantry Division(31D).
