Twenty couples celebrated Valentine’s Day by professing their love through the holy sacrament of matrimony during a mass wedding at the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 headquarters in Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City on Tuesday.

Brigadier General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief, and his wife, Mrs. Pinky Lyn Francisco; and Mrs. Mary Grace Azurin, wife of PNP chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. were the principal sponsors of the couples who exchanged vows at the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chapel.

Other principal sponsors are members of the PRO-6 Command Group and OLC officers.

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Virgil Ibardolaza, PRO-6 chaplain, officiated the ceremony which was sponsored by the PRO-6 Officers’ Ladies Club (OLC).

Pinky Lyn Francisco, who’s been married to Brigadier Gen. Francisco for three decades, said they’re happy that more PNP couples took their marriage vow “as a way of enriching their lives and consecrating their union.”

“As your Ninang and as an advisor to the Officers Ladies Club, I have always emphasized that marriage is not just about celebrating the union of two people, but you are also celebrating life and everything in between,” she said.

Mrs. Francisco also reminded the couples about facing challenges together and making things work together.

“And we are tested the most when we face adversities,” she said.

The PRO-6 OLC also sponsored a mass wedding on Dec. 28, 2022, which benefited 25 couples.
