The board performance of schools in various disciplines generally dropped amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Region VI (Western Visayas) produced top-performing schools and examinees in some board examinations.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Medical Technology announced that 67.69% of the examinees passed the Medical Technologist Licensure Examination in January 2021. The region’s passing average was 63.1%, lower than the national passing average.
The PRC Board of Electronics Engineering announced that 47.84% passed the Electronics Engineer Licensure Examinations given in October 2021. Bryce Bertram Siopan Sison of the University of Saint La Salle ranked number 6 in the said examination for Electronics Engineers. High-performing engineering schools from the Region with 10 or more examinees were the University of Saint La Salle and TUP-Visayas. The region’s passing percentage was 46.9%, still lower than the national passing percentage.
In October 2021, the PRC Board of Accountancy announced that 15.25%, passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examinations. The region’s passing average was 29%, overshooting the national average.
The PRC Board of Fisheries announced that 26.82% passed the Fisheries Technologist Licensure Examination in October 2021. Geraldin Mae Daguplo Olaer of UP-Visayas ranked number 3 in the examination for Fisheries Technologists. Jeremiah Inventor Diaz, Mary Gold Rio David, and Pearlyn Tanate Cambronero also of UP-Visayas ranked number 4, 7 and 8 respectively in the said examination. The Region passing average was 50.82%, also higher than the national passing average
In October 2021 the PRC Board of Medicine announced that 72.85% passed the Physician Licensure Examination. The region’s passing percentage was 76.47%.
The PRC Board of Chemistry announced that 36.31%, passed the Chemist Licensure Examination in October 2021. The region’s passing average was 41.18%.
In November 2021, the PRC Board of Civil Engineering announced that 36.7%, passed the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination. Charlene Grace Varrera Gelotin of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos ranked number 2 in the said examination for Civil Engineers while Sirgie Lowell Alegro Rufo of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College ranked number 6. The region’s passing average was 40.55%.
The PRC Board of Architecture announced that 65.96% passed the Architect Licensure Examination in August 2021. The region passing percentage of 73.08% was higher than the national average.
In September 2021, the PRC announced that 80.24% passed the Real Estate Appraiser Licensure Examination. Cezar Caballero Agtas Jr. of Santa Isabel College of Iloilo City (SICI) ranked number 10 in the said examination.
In November 2021 the PRC Board of Agriculture announced that 29.87%, passed the Agriculturist Board Examination. The region’s passing average was 29.51%.
The PRC announced that 37.75%, passed the Social Worker Licensure Examination in August 2021. Talitha Charis Mari Frondoza Narido of Central Philippine University ranked number 8 in the said examination for Social Workers. The region’s passing average was 61.11%.
