2022 Performance of Schools in Board Examinations (Conclusion)

In May 2022, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Civil Engineering announced that a total of 5,836 out of 13,781 examinees nationwide, or 42.35%, passed in the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given in fifteen (15) testing centers nationwide.

John Lewis Lagaña Pabilona of University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos ranked number 4 in the said examination for Civil Engineers. High performing higher education institution (HEI) in the Region with 10 or more examinees and at least 80% passing percentage is Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) with a passing average of 100%.

Six (6) schools in Western Visayas out of 17, or 35.3%, performed high or with a passing percentage higher than that of the national level. The Region produced 233 passers out of 608 takers, or 38.3% passing percentage. There were 426 first takers and 182 repeaters from the Region who took the said examination.

In April 2022 the PRC Board of Electrical Engineering announced that a total of 3,029 out of 5,567 examinees nationwide, or 54.41%, passed in the Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination given in fifteen (15) testing centers nationwide.

Von Kleo Barsabal Marcuelo of Central Philippine University ranked number 6 in the said examination for Electrical Engineers. High performing HEI in the Region with 10 or more examinees and at least 80% passing percentage is Central Philippine University, with a passing percentage of 93.3%.

Four (4) schools in Western Visayas out of 11, or 36%, performed high or with a passing percentage higher than that of the national level. The Region produced 153 passers out of 313 takers, or 48.9% passing percentage. There were 257 first takers and 56 repeaters from the Region who took the said examination. The first takers passing percentage is 55.3%. The repeaters passing percentage is 19.6%.

On the other hand, the PRC released the results of March 2022 Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET) given in 24 testing centers all over the Philippines. Ten thousand thirty nine (10,039) out of 20,567 or 48.81% passed in the LET – Elementary.  Two hundred forty six (246) of these are first takers, while 9,793 are repeaters.

Western Visayas Region performed high, or with passing percentage higher than that of the national average. Sixty-five (65) out of 80 HEIs in the Region or 81.3% are high performing. Forty-three (43) out of 64 or sixty seven percent (67%) of the high performing HEIs are public schools.

High performing HEIs in the Region, with 10 or more examinees and at least 80% passing percentage are Bago City College (96.55%), West Visayas State University – Main Campus (92.37%), Carlos Hilado Memorial State University – Binalbagan Campus (84%), Philippine Normal University – Visayas (82.35%), ISAT University – Miagao (80%) and Carlos Hilado Memorial State University – Main Campus (80%).

Five hundred seventy-six (576) out of 929 examinees in the Region, or 62%, passed in the said examination. One hundred percent (100%) of the first takers passed while 62% of the repeaters passed. Ninety nine percent (99%) of the examinees were repeaters. In January 2022 LET-Elementary, high performing HEIs in the Region with 10 and above examinees and at least 80% passing percentage are Aklan State University-Ibajay Campus (90%), Carlos Hilado Memorial State University – Main Campus (87.5%), Northern Iloilo State University – Main Campus (80%) and Cabarrus Catholic College (80%).

Furthermore 7,809 out of 18,715 or 41.73% passed in the March 2022 LET-Secondary. Two thousand one hundred ninety-four (2,194) of these are first takers, while 5,615 are repeaters. In the Regional level 435 out of 1,045 or 41.63% of the examinees passed. Forty-one (41) out of 91 HEIs in the Region or 45% are high performing. Sixty one percent (61%) of these high performing HEIs are public schools.
