38 nabbed, P336,252 in ‘shabu’ seized in 10 days

BACOLOD City – A total of 38 persons were arrested and P336,252 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate drug bust operations here and in Negros Occidental from February 28 to March 9.

The operations included the dismantling of an alleged drug den at the Vendor’s Plaza in Barangay 12 here last Monday by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 Special Enforcement Team (SET).

PDEA agents also arrested suspected drug den maintainer Jovie Bermudes and seven others.

Confiscated from them were 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000, improvised tooters, lighters, and the marked money.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) also seized P30,600 worth of the same alleged contraband from buy-bust operations conducted by Police Stations 1, 4, 5, and 8 in Barangays 27, 30, 35, and Barangay Singcang-Airport.

For the province, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) arrested 26 persons out of the total number of apprehended individuals.

The provincial police force confiscated P228,652 worth of suspected shabu in drug bust operations conducted in the cities of San Carlos, Kabankalan, Silay, Bago, Cadiz, Victorias, and Talisay; and the towns of La Castellana, Ilog, and Calatrava.
