ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The local government is running after persons behind motorcycle-napping incidents here.

The Roxas City police, the Highway Patrol Group, Traffic Management Unit, City Licensing Division, and the Capiz Provincial Crime Laboratory conducted surprise inspections on junkshops here.

Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, Roxas City police spokesperson, said the surprise inspections on the shops were meant to check if parts of stolen motorcycles were sold to them.

Police here have recorded a series of motorcycle-napping incidents for days.

Early this week, Roger Amosin Jr. of Brgy. Ondoy Ivisan, Capiz reported that his motorcycle was stolen while parked in a mall here.

The motorcycle was later found in Brgy. Tiza here, with some parts already missing.

Amosin presented his ownership papers of the motorcycle which was later released to him.

According to him, he bought the motorcycle two weeks ago.

The police are still investigating the case.

Few months ago, two more motorcycles went missing and later found in Tapaz, Capiz.
