The Manny V.Pangilinan (MVP) Group promised to provide good and stable WiFi connection and continuous supply of electricity to centers converted into medical facilities who house patients tested positive for COVID-19.

To begin with, SMART Communications already installed WiFi connections in the respective medical facilities; The Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, New Clark City in Tarlac, the Philippine International Convention Center, the World Trade Center, and the Philippine Army gymnasium in Taguig.

Al Panlilio, president and chief executive officer of SMART who at the same time serves as the Meralco Bolts’ team governor, confirmed that the service is part of PLDT Smart’s commitment amid the pandemic.

“This rollout is part of PLDT Smart’s commitment to equipping our frontliners with reliable connectivity and relevant digital tools to help them during this nationwide COVID-19 response,” Panlilio said.

To help shoulder the full cost of the electricity in several medical facilities, Meralco teamed up with San Miguel for the total expenses.

PLDT chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan added that it is their help to the frontliners and victims to provide them with innovative digital tools amid the pandemic.
