Filipino-Japanese karateka Junna Tsukii just grabbed a memorable milestone in her young career after taking the world no. 2 spot in the annual rankings of the Karate Premier League.

After gold medal performances in Lisbon, Portugal and Cairo, Egypt this year, the Filipina karateka accumulated a total of 2,760 points.

Despite the stellar achievement, Tsukii was not satisfied with the results as she was targeting the female -50kg category.

“My annual ranking from 2020 to 2021 is second in the world. This is not a satisfying result for me. I will do my best to be stronger,” Tsukii posted on her Facebook account.

Tsukii placed behind karate sensation Serap Ozcelik Arapoglu of Turkey with an impressive 9,817.5 total points.

Meanwhile, the World Karate Federation (WKF), a separate organizing body for karate, had Tsukii in the fifth spot with 4,672.5 points in her bag.

Up to this date, Tsukii still wasn’t able to confirm if she still has remaining international tournaments to join with three months left before 2021 ends.
