Drilon Confident Uswag Ilonggo Beneficial For Region 6

Ilonggo Senator Franklin M. Drilon is the latest prominent political leader to convey support for the congressional bid of Uswag Ilonggo Party-list, No. 99 on the ballot.

A veteran senator of 24 years, Drilon believes that Uswag Ilonggo Party-list has the potential to be Western Visayas’ stronger force and louder voice of the region in the House of Representatives. It will be the extra force essential to reinforce the voices of concerns for the region as a whole.

“Uswag Ilonggo as a multi-sectoral party-list aims for the welfare of the Ilonggo families through modernized agriculture, healthcare for the poor, infrastructure projects, livelihood opportunities, economic growth, and easier access to education and capacity building,” Drilon said.

The Ilonggo senator said that the programs of Uswag Ilonggo are especially anchored on the needs and dreams of the Ilonggos. And he is pleased that one of the priorities of Uswag Ilonggo is the welfare of every Ilonggo family.

“Ang programa sang Uswag Ilonggo base sa kinahanglanon kag handum sang mga pumoluyo. Diin ka man nga bahin sang rehiyon, Ilonggo ka. Uswag Ilonggo Party-list para sa imo, para sa inyo, para sa aton tanan! Uswag Ilonggo, Numero 99 sa balota. Aton ini!” Drilon said.

Moreover, the senate minority leader expressed confidence that the Uswag Ilonggo Party-list will bring Region 6 to greater heights through its 5-point agenda which includes the following:

* the well-being of every Ilonggo family

* upgrading of agriculture

* proper healthcare for the poor

* consistent programs on infrastructure and tourism, and

* more scholarships for the youth.

Drilon further said that Uswag Ilonggo is here as the manifestation and embodiment of Region 6 as one. With this, he is encouraging all Ilonggos to support Uswag Ilonggo, No. 99 on the ballot, this coming May 9 elections.

He added that Uswag Ilonggo, which represents multi-sectoral groups, is the party-list that everyone in Region 6 needs to be able to fulfill their dreams of having a better life and making Western Visayas one of the premier regions in the country.

Meanwhile, Drilon, a native of Iloilo City, is ending his fourth term as senator on June 30, 2022 leaving as legacy a number of economic reform laws which helped lay the foundations for a healthy economy. His fellow senators even cited the excellent performance of Drilon as minority leader and his contributions in the passage of several landmark measures.
