DTI Guimaras hosts seminar to boost MSME tax compliance

In an effort to support the local business community, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras, in partnership with NMC Business Consultancy Services, held a groundbreaking seminar titled “Breaking the Tax Sigma: A Talk on Tax Compliance for MSMEs in Guimaras” on September 6, 2024.

The event aimed to equip local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with essential knowledge on tax compliance and business efficiency.

The seminar, held at the DTI Guimaras Boardroom in San Miguel, Jordan, attracted 23 participants, ranging from small business owners to financial officers.

Attendees received expert guidance on key topics such as navigating tax rules, strategic tax planning, and optimizing bookkeeping practices for MSMEs.

Juvy Benliro, Officer-in-Charge of DTI Guimaras, highlighted the significance of the initiative in her opening address: “This valued collaboration will significantly improve MSMEs’ business operations, helping them navigate their tax obligations effectively and prevent operational setbacks due to tax-related issues.”

Among the distinguished speakers were Noeleen Monarca Carreon, CPA, MBA; Emelia May T. Macabalitao; John Zaldy C. Guinsatao; and Rodel N. Torrento, all of whom shared practical insights and strategies designed to help MSMEs ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
