It may not all be normal, but the ABS-CBN sports division team, Sports+Action (S+A), will still keep their promise to stream UAAP Season 82’s closing ceremonies despite being permanently dissolved following their network’s shutdown.
Just a week after the saddening news regarding their sports division team’s disbandment, the giant media network confirmed that S+A would no longer air games via livesteam and will have to end their pending contracts with PVL, UAAP, and NCAA.
However, ABN-CBN still kept its long-time promise to the UAAP management to hold and air via livestream the closing ceremonies and to award the winners for the latest UAAP season.
This Saturday, July 25, the online event ceremony will be aired at 4:00 PM via Youtube and Facebook under ABS-CBN Sports.
To recall, the last date of UAAP games for both high school and college was April 7 until the lockdown was imposed by the national government due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Lalabas ‘yun doon sa closing ceremonies, just to highlight na, one, as a community, as a nation, we are here to help everyone, that’s one. And two, itong mga atleta na ‘to na mga hindi nakapaglaro or natapos, they are part of Season 82,” said UAAP president Em Fernandez.
