Almost 60,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines expected in Iloilo City

Iloilo City is assured of additional vaccines amidst its intensified COVID-19 vaccination of eligible population, especially minors.

Almost 60,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines are expected to arrive in Iloilo City today, Nov 22, 2021.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas confirmed in his Facebook account on Sunday morning that the Department of Health (DOH) has allotted an additional 60,000 doses to the city.

Specifically, the city will receive 50,310 doses of Pfizer and 9,400 vials of Sinovac.

“God is great! Got this good news when I woke up: Sir good morning po. Sorry to disturb you, this is Jo delos Santos, DOH Rep. Just want to inform you po that we do have vaccine allocation and delivery po on Monday, Pfizer, of 50,310 doses and Sinovac 9,400 vials,” Treñas said in his social media page.

As of Nov 17, 2021, the city has administered the first dose to 364,609 individuals or equivalent to 108.78% of the target population, 323,949 or 96.65% were already fully vaccinated with the second dose, based on data from the DOH-Western Visayas.

Meanwhile, minors aged 12 to 17 years old who have been inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines in Iloilo City totaled 27,283 as of Nov 16. (ERS)
