Jerwin Ancajas is finally getting his wish after the planned mega-fight against current World Boxing Organization (WBO) super-flyweight Kazuto Ioka was confirmed on December 31, 2021.

Ancajas, the current International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight champion, will seek to unify the belts and get the better of the Japanese boxer come New Year’s Eve.

Manny Pacquiao (MP) Promotions president Sean Gibbons announced Ancajas’ biggest fight of the year.

Ancajas is now putting in the work and has set up his training camp in Los Angeles, USA since October.

Aside from being a two-belt world champion, the prized Filipino boxer is also looking to defend his IBF belt for the 11th time and will try to keep his title defense match winning streak alive.

“We are very happy that Jerwin Ancajas, one of our first world champions, is getting this tremendous opportunity to unify his IBF title with the WBO title,” said Gibbons.

Ancajas will be facing the daunting task of stopping his Japanese foe who boasts an impressive resume of 27 wins, with 15 coming via way of knockout and only two losses.

Meanwhile, the Filipino pug will be entering their showdown with 33 wins, only one loss, and 22 knockouts.

“Jerwin has waited a long time for this type of fight and come December 31, he will ring in the New Year as the new IBF and WBO junior bantamweight world champion,” added Gibbons.
