Another arrest warrant served against forex scam suspect

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Another warrant of arrest was served Sunday against the prime suspect in a foreign exchange scam who is detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Brgy. San Jose here.

The subject of the warrant is Lourdes Bulaquiña Baarde, 43, of Rio Grande subdivisions in Brgy. Baybay.

The warrant for syndicated estafa was issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities Branch 1 (MTCC) Judge Jennie Ann T. Logronio on July 14, 2020.

To recall, Baarde and her accomplice Joel Damayan of Quezon City were first arrested a few months ago in Manila for syndicated estafa.

Baarde is facing multiple charges for syndicated estafa relative to the alleged P600 million forex investment scam.

Meanwhile, a wanted person facing murder charges was arrested by police from Sigma and Tapaz towns.

Isidro Bundalan, 52, of Brgy. Tabon Tapaz, Capiz did not resist when the police served his warrant of arrest at his relatives’ house in Brgy. Pinamalatican, Sigma.

The warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 20 Judge Judith D. Orendain Tonogbanua in Mambusao, Capiz.

Bundalan is presently detained at the Sigma Municipal Police Station.
