Another rider killed in motorcycle mishap in Iloilo City

Another rider was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a truck late evening of Feb 14, 2022 at Jaro, Iloilo City.

Police identified the fatality as Niel Aldrin Socorro, 19, of Barangay Pagsanga-an, Pavia, Iloilo.

He succumbed to head injuries.

According to police reports, Socorro’s Yamaha Mio motorcycle bumped into an Isuzu truck (license plate CAL-2760) in a portion of the Circumferential Road at Barangay Tacas, Jaro.

The truck was driven by Denmark Gabito, 36, a resident of Barangay Sta. Teresa, Jordan, Guimaras,

Socorro’s motorcycle swerved to the truck’s lane and bumped into the the truck.

The motorcycle was a total wreck while the truck incurred damages on its front portion.

Gabito voluntarily turned himself in after the incident.

Two days ago, a motorcycle driver was also killed after his vehicle collided with a sedan taxi at La Paz, Iloilo City.

Police identified the fatality as Vincent Arcenio, 34, a resident of Bo. Obrero, Lapuz district.

Police reports said that Rey Carlo Bretaña, driver of Quarry Taxi, was executing a left turn to St. Clement’s Church premises when a Suzuki Smash motorcycle smashed into his cab.

On Feb 10, another rider was also killed after his motorcycle collided with a passenger jeepney at Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro.

The fatality, 26-year-old Lorenz Paul Burgos, was a food delivery rider.
