Antique police nab two most wanted persons

Two of the most wanted persons in Antique province were arrested in separate police operations on July 11, 2022.

The suspects were identified as Anecito Aungon, 70, construction worker and residing at Barangay Caridad, Culasi, Antique and Gregorio Leonidas Jr., 42, of Barangay Calacja 2, Hamtic, Antique.

Aungon is the second most wanted person of Sebaste town. Members of Sebaste Municipal Police Station collared him around 3:30 in the afternoon at Barangay Bacalan, Sebaste.

The elderly suspect was the subject of an arrest warrant for acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610 (Child Prostitution and Other Sexual Abuse) docketed under Criminal Case Number 22-C-039-CR.

Judge Josefina Fulo Muego of the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 in Culasi, Antique issued the arrest warrant on April 29, 2022. Bail was set at P180,000.

Meanwhile, Leonidas, the fifth most wanted persons of Western Visayas and No. 1 most wanted person in Antique, was arrested around 10 p.m. Monday.

Members of the Hamtic Municipal Police Station, Antique Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division 6, and 1st Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company nabbed the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for rape in Criminal Case Number 2022-05-10179 to 2022-05-10182 and violation of Republic Act 7610.

Judge Jojo Cruz Cruzat of RTC Branch 11 in San Jose, Antique issued the warrant on June 16, 2022.

He was not allowed to post bail.

The two suspects are now detained.
