Seventeen years of freedom, albeit temporary, ended for a 40-year-old “wanted person” of Antique province.

Jaime Fernandez, who hails from Bayo Pequeño, Anini-y, Antique, was arrested morning of October 2, 2021 at Barangay Anahaw 1, Silang, Cavite

Fernandez is considered as Antique province’s fifth most wanted person because of his involvement in a shooting incident on July 5, 2004 in Anini-y town which led to his neighbor’s death.

Fernandez left Antique even before the arrest warrant for murder was issued on October 4, 2004 by former Judge Rudy Castrojas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 12 in San Jose, Antique.

The case against the suspect is docketed as Criminal Case No. 2004-9-7061. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

Authorities initially monitored his location but he disappeared from the radar by constantly transferring residences in Bacoor, Silang and Cawit in Cavite.

But years later, police operatives learned of his whereabouts that led to his arrest.

Fernandez is temporarily detained at Silang Municipal Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
