BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio Leonardia has reminded the personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to strengthen the monitoring of the implementation of health protocols here amid the pandemic.
This, after Colonel Manuel Placido, BCPO Director paid a New Year’s courtesy Call with the mayor and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, along with the BCPO staff and 10 station commanders at the Bacolod City Government Center last Thursday.
Leonardia noted that strict observance of the health protocols is a continuing urgency, considering that there is a new variant of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO’s public information officer, said that they have recorded minimal number of health protocol violators.
“May ara man gihapon ga violate pero minimal na lang unlike dati,” he added.
Pico said they continue their information dissemination about the government’s health protocols to prevent more COVID cases here.
He said that the mayor urged them to also focus on the barangay drug clearing program.
Based on the data of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental in December 2020, 12 villages here were already declared drug-free.
