BACOLOD City – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) awarded last Friday the warden of Metro Bacolod District Jail-Male Dormitory Annex in Barangay Handumanan here as best district jail warden.

Jail Senior Inspector Norberto Miciano Jr. received a Plaque of Merit from President Rodrigo Duterte, BJMP director Allan Iral, and Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año during the 28th anniversary of BJMP at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

Miciano was recognized by the national bureau for his distinguished and extraordinary achievements as warden of MBDJ here.

He bested more than hundreds of jail wardens in the Philippines.

Miciano said the regional bureau recommended him as one of the nominees in the individual personnel category.

In response, Miciano thanked his personnel and Jail Chief Superintendent Arnel Gongona, BJMP-6 director for supporting and trusting him to represent the regional bureau to the national level.

“It was really overwhelming and I am also really grateful,” he said.

Miciano served as warden of MBDJ – male dormitory annex for more than two years now.

Miciano also expressed his gratitude to the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) for cooperating with the jail’s initiatives and various programs under his leadership.

“This award will motivate me and my personnel to do more for the good of the PDLs and the whole bureau,” Miciano said.
