Bacolod police seize P20M in illegal drugs first half of 2024

BACOLOD CITY – Police in Bacolod City seized a total of P20,034,250.45 worth of illegal drugs from January to June this year.

According to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), P20,033,833.60 worth of shabu and P416.85 worth of marijuana were confiscated during this six-month period.

BCPO records indicate that 2,946.15 grams of shabu and 2.779 grams of marijuana were seized in the first half of the year.

The city police conducted 171 anti-illegal drug operations, leading to the arrest of 193 individuals and the filing of 250 cases.

Among those arrested, 123 were identified as drug pushers, while 70 were drug users. The BCPO classified 30 of these individuals as high-value targets, 111 as street-level individuals, and 52 as newly identified suspects.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man was arrested during a drug bust in Barangay 16, Bacolod City, last Sunday.

Operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) apprehended the suspect, known by the alias “Toto,” and seized 30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P204,000. Police identified him as a street-level individual.
