BCPO recognized best city police office in WV

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) was recognized as best city police office in Western Visayas for the year 2018.

Police Colonel Henry Biñas received a plaque of recognition from Police Director General Oscar Albayalde, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 during the 118th Police Service Anniversary held at PRO-6 headquarters in Iloilo City last Friday.

The BCPO bested seven other police offices in the region.

The city police force contributed immensely to the attainment of the mission and vision of PRO-6.

Meanwhile, Police Station 2 here was also awarded for having the most number of firearms accounted through “Tokhang Kontra Ginadumili-an nga Pusil” (TKGP) last year via iron hand approach, wherein authorities applied search warrant or raid houses through targeted police operations.

The TKGP was launched last year to intensify the campaign against loose firearms and prevent gun-related incidents in the region.

The award was received by its station commander Police Captain Leo Estopa.

Biñas expressed his gratitude for the said recognition and commended the BCPO police personnel for the concerted effort in helping solve crimes in their respective police stations and units.
