Two brothers were arrested in a police anti-illegal drug operation evening of July 15 in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspects as Maomar Bueron, 48, and Mateo Bueron, 50, both residents of Barangay Tabucan where they were arrested.
Members of the Cabatuan Municipal Police Station nabbed the duo after they allegedly connived in selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P5,000.
Three more sachets of suspected shabu and other non-drug items were taken from their possession after the arrest.
The seized drugs were valued at P108,000.
Captain Dionisio Estacio, Cabatuan police chief, said Maomar, a farmer, was the target of their operation.
He was placed under surveillance for about a month following persistent reports of his alleged involvement in illegal drugs.
Mateo Bueron, a dump truck driver, served as an alleged runner for his younger brother.
Estacio said Maomar was also arrested for illegal drugs in another town in Iloilo province.
He was released through a plea bargaining agreement.
The two suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
