BACOLOD City – Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Wednesday that capitol employees will start receiving their Christmas bonus next week.

Diaz told reporters here that all departments are already preparing after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved on Tuesday the P78-million budget for the bonus.

But Diaz clarified that only casual and regular employees are entitled to the perk.

He said job order employees are not covered due to certain budgetary prohibitions.

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson marked his birthday on Monday with the announcement that regular and casual Capitol employees will each receive P65,000 additional bonus.

Capitol employees got P40,000 additional bonus each last year despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The P65,000 additional bonuses to be received by capitol employees is on top of the 13th and 14th month pays they received in May and November 2021, which is equivalent to a month’s salary, and the P5,000 cash incentive.
