ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) received 100 new firearms from the Philippine National Police (PNP) national headquarters.
Police Colonel Julio Gustilo Jr., CPPO provincial director, said the firearms were turned over by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 recently.
Gustilo said the PNP national command bought 600 new Galil rifles for Region 6 and 100 were allocated to Capiz.
The firearms will be handed to police officers assigned to the Provincial Mobile Force Company and those assigned on patrol duties.
Aside from the firearms, the CPPO will also receive Kevlar armors and radio communications equipment.
Gustilo said the firearms and other new equipment will help in the campaign against criminalities and insurgency.
PNP Chief Police General Archie Gamboa had earlier promised to give new firearms to the police.
