After Johriel Casimero’s monster hunting operation was waived, the Filipino slugger together with his head trainer Nonoy Neri have to prepare for a new challenge.

With Bob Arum formally calling the bout between Japanese Naoya “Monster” Inoue and Casimero off, the Top Rank Promotions chief had to make quick plans for Casimero.

Casimero and Inoue were supposed to clash for the bantamweight unification since Casimero holds the World Boxing Organization belt and Inoue with the World Boxing Association and the International Boxing Federation but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, things weren’t able to fall in place.

So to patch things up, Arum thought that while Casimero is still in the USA, he and Top Rank Promotions should find another worthy opponent, and they think they found one.

Joshua Greer, Casimero’s number one challenger and Inoue’s number two contender is Arum’s top pick to replace the Japanese monster.

Holding a record of 22-1-1 with 12 knockouts, Greer is also under Top Rank Promotions and according to Arum, one of the most possible fights to happen.

“Our kid from Chicago. He was going to fight Jason Moloney, so we could have him fight Casimero. That’s a good, competitive fight,” Arum added.
