Ending their last match in a 2-2 draw against Vietnamese squad Than Quang Ninh, the Ceres-Negros FC vows to increase their offensive intensity to help add points for a high-rank finish in the AFC Cup.
The busmen struggled in the second half offensively against the tight and suffocating defense of the Vietnamese champs.
However, Ceres’ lack of production on the offensive end was made up by their solid defense, clogging and deflecting the passing lanes every time Than Quang Ninh strikers sprinted to the Ceres interior.
OJ Porteria and Bienvendio Marañon put out consistent performances, each scoring a goal apiece but still needed a little help from their teammates to seal the game.
Captain Stephan Shrock also didn’t fail to fire well-placed through balls and on-point passes but the Vietnamese champs were quick to counter Shrock’s passing.
Expect the busmen to force the action against Bali United in their next game as they try to add to their point tally for a high finish.
