The Choco Mucho Flying Titans reigned supreme over the tough Cignal HD Spikers after blanking them in straight sets, 25-18, 25-20, 25-21, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on March 14, 2024, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
With the huge victory, the Flying Titans remained undefeated in the conference, improving to a perfect 4-0 record while handing the HD Spikers their first loss in the All-Filipino.
From the get-go, the Flying Titans just ramped up the intensity and were executing their offensive plays to perfection.
Laser-sharp and decisive with their sets, Choco Mucho was always going for the kill in every set play and was more aggressive than Cignal.
Sisi Rondina dropped the hammer on the HD Spikers after unleashing 23 big points built from 25 successful attacks alongside eight excellent receptions.
It was Rondina who sparked Choco Mucho’s early frenzy in the opening set as her deceptive cross-court spikes piled up the points for the Flying Titans.
In just three sets of action, Rondina pulled off an efficient scoring outing assisted by Mars Alba, the team’s newly signed setter from the now-defunct F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
Alba was terrific in all facets of the game and ran the Choco Mucho spiking party with 19 excellent sets alongside four markers.
Aside from Rondina, Kat Tolentino also had a big game for Choco Mucho and contributed 14 points derived from 15 successful attacks and 10 excellent digs.
“Sobrang ganda ng naging performance namin kasi sobrang taas ng efficiency namin sa receive namin kaya halos lahat ng receive namin na-convert namin sa puntos talaga,” said Choco Mucho chief tactician Dante Alinsunurin after the win.
The Flying Titans will look to stretch its undefeated PVL record to five wins without a loss on March 19, 2024, as they square off against the revamped PLDT High-Speed Hitters.
