The management of the Cignal HD Spikers has confirmed a breach of contract related to the departure of volleyball stars Ces Molina and Ria Meneses on January 9, 2025.

Avior Talent Management, the agency representing Molina and Meneses, announced that the duo would part ways with the franchise due to their expiring contracts.

However, Cignal management clarified that contract extensions for both players were offered as early as October 2024, a month before the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference began.

Reports indicate that Molina and Meneses’ contracts were already nearing expiration at the start of the PVL All-Filipino Conference in November 2024.

Cignal refuted claims of failed contract negotiations, stating that they had provided extension documents but received no response from the players’ camp despite repeated attempts to contact them.

Despite the apparent internal miscommunication, Molina and Meneses continued playing for the HD Spikers during their first five games of the conference, helping the team achieve an impressive 4-1 win-loss record.

Cignal management has expressed its intention to pursue legal action, citing a breach of contract during the process.

The sudden departure of the two key players has left the HD Spikers with only 12 active players on their roster, with numerous games still remaining in the All-Filipino Conference.

“The Cignal HD Spikers remain committed to our athletes, supporters, and community and will continue preparing for the resumption of the 2025 PVL All-Filipino Conference,” Cignal stated.

Both volleyball stars left an imprint on the Cignal organization, helping them clinch two silver medals and five bronze finishes during their three-year tenure in a total of eight conferences.
