The Cignal HD Spikers’ stellar 2022 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) run will still be on full display after clinching their seat for the upcoming semifinals.

Cignal made quick work of the BaliPure Water Defenders and swept them in three sets, 25-14, 25-9, 25-14, and are yet to taste defeat in the PVL.

It was all Cignal from the first set as their chemistry in their offensive sets just worked perfectly led by veteran Ces Molina who top-scored her squad with 12 points on top of five receptions.

“Sobrang nakaka-proud yung team kasi nagbubunga na yung lahat ng pinaghirapan namin,” said HD Spikers head coach Shaq Delos Santos.

Aside from their consistent offensive sets, Cignal also welcomed the Water Defenders to their block party led by national team staple Ria Meneses who had four blocks.

It was a devastating turn of events for BaliPure when the second set came as the waxing-hot HD Spikers attacked their middle-blocking at will and only limited them to nine points.

“Good thing, kumbaga kung ano ‘man yung naging puhunan namin, yung foundation namin before may magandang result na nangyayari. But of course hindi kami mag sa-stop kasi alam naming marami pa kaming dapat i-improve,” Delos Santos added.

This is the first time that Cignal opened their season and reached the semifinals without a single defeat and have bounced back from a disappointing season last conference.

Meanwhile, the Water Defenders will still continue seeking answers after failing to reach the semifinals again despite retooling their roster.
