The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) officially launched its inaugural Mall Voting program in Iloilo City today, April 25, starting with a caravan and program at the University of the Philippines Visayas Iloilo City Campus.
Four malls—SM City Iloilo, Festive Walk Iloilo, Robinsons Place Iloilo, and Robinsons Place Jaro—will serve as designated voting precincts.
These locations will accommodate voters from specific barangays, with priority access for senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities.
The designated mall voting areas are as follows:
- SM City Iloilo – Barangay Buhang Taft North, Mandurriao
● Festive Walk Iloilo – Barangay Airport, Mandurriao
● Robinsons Place Jaro – Barangay San Vicente, Jaro
● Robinsons Place Iloilo – Barangays Kauswagan, Magsaysay, Osmeña, Roxas Village, and San Jose, City Proper
An estimated 12,000 registered voters are expected to participate in the program.
To ensure safety and order, the Iloilo City Police Office will conduct a walkthrough inspection of the mall venues.
COMELEC Iloilo Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Renier Layson said the initiative aims to streamline the voting process and boost voter turnout by making the experience more convenient for residents.
