Comelec to hold COC filing at Robinsons’ mall

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Commission on Election (Comelec) will receive certificates of candidacy (COC) for the 2022 elections at Robinsons’ mall in Brgy. Lawaan here.

Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Wil Arceño said they chose the venue for the COC filing because of the good ambiance and wide space.

He said the filing will be on October 1 to 8, 2021 for candidates running for governor, vice governor, board members and congressman.

It is also the venue for the filing of COC for mayor, vice mayor and councilors.

The intention is to strictly implement the minimum health protocol against coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) considering that the offices of the provincial and city Comelec are small and not enough to accommodate the filers.

But the companions of each candidate should be limited inside the mall.

Arceño is confident that the elections will push through despite the pandemic.

He said the Comelec is trying its best to make the forthcoming elections peaceful and credible.
