BACOLOD City – The Calatrava Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental is investigating the death of an LGBT member who reportedly committed suicide last Wednesday.
Police Major Roberto Indiape Jr., town police chief, said they are eyeing alleged foul play in the death of a 28-year-old man who was found hanging inside the house of his partner on September 22.
Indiape said they were signs of struggle, especially the scratches on the victim’s hands and the way he allegedly claimed his own life.
Indiape said the victim died from strangulation based on the medical findings.
According to the victim’s partner, who is also his relative, they had an argument earlier that day, prompting him to leave their house.
A few hours later, the victim was found lifeless inside the house by his partner’s mother after the victim’s partner asked her to check on the victim.
“Kabudlay abi iestablish sang suicide, kay may signs of struggle, then lapta ang gamit,” Indiape said.
He said they invited the victim’s partner for questioning but was later released after no evidence linked him to the incident.
He said they are waiting for a witness to surface.
The blood stains found in the crime scene was examined to determine the possible participation of other individuals.
