Cops face blank wall on death of Dumarao bizman

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police are facing a blank wall in the case of a 47-year-old businessman who was shot dead Wednesday morning at Poblacion Ilaya Dumarao, Capiz.

Glenn Hamot of Barangay Malonoy Dumarao, Capiz suffered fatal gunshot wounds in his armpit.

Investigation by the Dumarao Municipal Police Station indicated that Hamot was standing in front of his bakery when the two unidentified suspects shot him using a 12-gauge shotgun.

The victim was taken to Senator Gerardo Roxas District Hospital in Dao, Capiz where he was declared dead.

The suspects fled towards Brgy. Codingle also in Dumarao town.

Police are eyeing revenge as a possible motive for the incident. The victim was recently involved in the illegal drug trade and was a drug surrenderer in their barangay.

According to some witnesses, the triggerman was around 40 years old and wore a white shirt, short pants, and a gray ball cap.

The other suspect was around 35 to 40 years old and wore a pink shirt, gray short pants, and a ball cap.
