Cops net P957K worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Police arrested 17 persons, including a female minor, and seized a total of P957,000 worth of suspected shabu here and in Negros Occidental from Oct 26 to 30, 2019.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) netted P560,000 worth of shabu while P397,000 worth of the same contraband was recovered by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).

The BCPO also arrested seven persons, including the minor while 10 persons were collared by Nocppo.

The buy-bust operations here were conducted at the villages Taculing, Banago, and Barangays 2, 20, and 30 by Police Stations 6, 3, 2, 4, and 8, respectively.

Meanwhile, Police Major Sherlock Gabana, head of Police Station 2, said that they uprooted a suspected marijuana plant at the parking lot of a call center firm here last Tuesday, after receiving information about its existence there.

Gabana said nobody is liable for it since the management of the call center firm told him that they also have no idea about it. The plant which is eight inches tall was turned over to the crime laboratory for examination.

In Negros Occidental, drug bust operations were conducted at the cities of Escalante, Sagay, Cadiz, Bago, Victorias, and Silay, and towns of Hinigaran, and Toboso.
