BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has urged the Bacolodnons to be more vigilant for their safety.

This, after the BCPO reported cases of shooting incidents here in the past two weeks.

Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, BCPO public information officer, said the people should immediately report to the police if they observe something suspicious around them, for immediate action.

“We need the cooperation of everyone, kay indi lang ni obligasyon sang police but aton tanan,” Gabana said.

Since June 1, four shooting incidents were reported, resulting in the deaths of three persons.

Among the fatalities were a caretaker of a private property, an alleged police asset, and the recent was a tricycle driver.

Aside from that, Gabana also urged business owners to install closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras especially focusing on streets, as this can help deter and solve crimes.

Gabana said that police were also told to maximize the deployment of their personnel in their respective areas of responsibility.

They also tapped the force multipliers to help the police in the deployment of their personnel to guard the communities.

Gabana also said that station commanders with unsolved cases especially shooting incidents were told to prioritize the investigation of such cases and to gather solid evidence to apprehend the perpetrators.
