BACOLOD City – Drug charges are being readied against a couple who was arrested in a buy-bust that led to the recovery of P768,400 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Tangub here yesterday.

Police Lieutenant Joeven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), identified the subjects as Roberto Dingcong, 41, and his live-in partner Jenny Babes Montealto, 25.

Mogato said the couple can be considered “high value individuals” after around 113 grams of suspected shabu was confiscated from them. Also seized was the P3,000 marked money and P200.

Mogato said the couple allegedly transacted with the police agent at their house.

Dingcong was an alleged drug personality of Police Station 8, he added.

Mogato said either someone delivers the contraband to the couple or Dingcong would meet someone to get the illegal drugs.

“Gina repack na nila para makaginansya sila,” he added.

Mogato said they are still probing the source of the illegal drugs, which they believed was just sourced out here.

He added that the couple had no link to any drug group.

The couple, who has yet to be reached for comment, is detained at Police Station 8.
