Cuartero to get P80-M for barangay projects

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Four barangays in Cuartero, Capiz are recipients of P80 million from the national government to support the anti-insurgency program.

According to Capiz Governor Esteban Evan Contreras, the P80 million funds were from the Support Barangay Development Program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

He said the beneficiaries are the villages of Putian, San Antonio, Mahunod-hunod and Brgy Carataya.

Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado presented the funding to the governor.

President Rodrigo Duterte created the NTF-LCAC in the hope to combat and end the almost five decades conflict between the government and the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).

Included in the program of NTF-ELCAC are the livelihoods of the former rebels that returned to the folds of law, implementation of infrastructure projects, social and health services in the areas with the presence of rebels.

 

The projects that should be implemented in the four barangays of Cuartero are:

  1. Putian – Concreting farm to market road-P12 Million installation of power solar streetlights-P1.5M, Cash for work-P1.5M, Purchase harvester-P1.5M, Construction of health station-P1.5M, Installation of water and sanitation system-P2M
  2. Mahunod-hunod – Concreting of farm to market road-P12M, Installation of solar power streetlights-P1.5M, Cash for work-P1.5M, Construction of health station-P1.5M Installation of water system and sanitation system – P2M
  3. San Antonio – installation of Solar Power streetlights-P1.5M, Farm to market Road-P12M, Cash for work-P3M, Purchase of rice harvester-P2M, Installation of Water System and sanitation system-P1.5M
  4. Carataya – Concreting farm to market road-P12M, Installation of power streetlights-P1.5M, Purchase harvester-P1.5M, Cash for work-P1.5M, Construction of health station-P1.5M, Installation of water and sanitation System-P2M
