A REGIONAL dialogue or town hall meeting that will serve as a venue to promote and disseminate information on the open government and participatory governance initiatives of the Duterte administration will be conducted here on September 3.
The activity dubbed “Dagyaw 2019 Iloilo” will also provide a platform for citizens to directly interface with senior officials of government through town hall type sessions.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Budget and Management and Presidential Communications Operations Office will spearhead the event with the support of the Philippine Information Agency.
Preparations for the event are being worked out by the regional counterparts of the lead agencies with hundreds of multi-sectoral participants expected to attend the session.
Government agencies will also put up booths at the event site to showcase their programs and services under the one-stop-shop concept.
DILG Regional Director Engr. Ariel Iglesia described the forthcoming activity as a “worthy endeavor” toward the promotion of open government initiatives.
The event will be held at the Iloilo Convention Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. (JBG/PIA)
