DIERGOS MURDER CASE: Village dad asked to explain ‘partly deleted CCTV footages’

Footages of a closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) in the area where the body of businesswoman Claire Diergos was found “were partly deleted.”

This is the latest revelation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday, Nov. 12, as the probe on Diergos’s death continues.

Major Raymond Celoso, Santa Barbara police chief, sent a letter to Barangay Captain Ricardo Bayog of Inangayan village Santa Barbara, Iloilo to ascertain why several parts of the CCTV footages taken on Oct 26, the day Diergos’s body was discovered, and on Oct 27 went “missing” or “got deleted.”

Senior Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero, SIT Diergos spokesperson, said the SIT would want to be clarified on the reasons why some parts of the footages went missing.

“Why are those footages very crucial? We have resource persons who testified that they have seen a vehicle and persons who stopped near Claire’s vehicle before her body was discovered. Ka-pila gid nagbalik-balik,” Lindero said.

The vehicle was seen in several instances passing by the area.

In the same vehicle, a person was seen taking photos of the vehicle.

“We are interested to know why they were taking pictures of the vehicle,” he said.

It can be noted that Claire was presumably killed on the night of Oct 24 inside her home in Deca Homes Subdivision, Pavia, Iloilo.

Her body was discovered afternoon of Oct 26 inside her Mitsubishi Montero Sport SUV at Barangay Inangayan.

The SIT believe that the footages could offer additional information that might be critical in the investigation.

The letter was sent to Bayog in November 11. He was given 24 hours to explain.

Meanwhile, Lindero said they already received some official results of the technical examinations they conducted. However, he claimed that he has yet to review the results.

For any information, police urged the public to call the SIT “Diergos” hotline 0998-967-3719.
