DOLE Guimaras relocates to improve service accessibility

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Region 6 has strategically relocated its Guimaras Field Office (GFO) to a more accessible and convenient location in Jordan, Guimaras, to better serve the community.

The new office, now situated on the 3rd Floor of Mavikss Building II in San Miguel, officially opened its doors on July 1, 2024.

The inauguration was marked by a flag-raising ceremony led by Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr., joined by Field Office and Unit Heads from DOLE Region 6.

Following the ceremony, the Management Committee held its monthly meeting to discuss ongoing challenges and ensure the efficient implementation of DOLE’s programs and services, particularly for sectors that are often unserved, underserved, or hard to reach.

Regional Director Rodriguez, who was pivotal in the relocation of the Guimaras office, has also been instrumental in relocating other key offices within the region.

This includes the transfer of the Regional Office and the Iloilo Field Office to Kuang Da Building on De La Rama Street, Iloilo City.

The new Iloilo location, with its scenic view of the Iloilo River, offers enhanced accessibility to clients across all provinces and is surrounded by other national government agencies and the Iloilo City Hall.

In addition to the Guimaras move, the Boracay Satellite Office in Aklan has found a new location, the Negros Occidental Field Office has undergone renovations, and the Capiz Field Office has been relocated to improve accessibility and ease of doing business for the public.

“The transfer to these new locations is part of our ongoing commitment to provide better services to the community,” said Regional Director Rodriguez.

“By being more accessible, we are ensuring that our programs and services reach those who need them most, especially in underserved and remote areas.”
