Drug surrenderer arrested again for illegal trade

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 27-year-old drug surrenderer is back in jail after being arrested again for allegedly selling illegal drugs on Saturday evening, September 21, in Barangay Tugas, Mambusao, Capiz.

The Mambusao police conducted the operation at around 8:10 p.m., leading to the arrest of the suspect, identified only as “Nelmar.”

Authorities recovered seven sachets of suspected illegal drugs weighing 12 grams, valued at P81,600. Also seized were P1,500 in buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is currently in the custody of the Mambusao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

In a separate operation, a 50-year-old man, ranked as the No. 9 most wanted person in Capiz, was arrested in Barangay Dulangan, Pilar, on Friday morning, September 20.

The suspect, identified as “Sonny,” was arrested at his home based on a warrant issued by Judge Esperanza Isabel Poco Deslate of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 on September 18, 2024. No bail was recommended for his temporary release.

“Sonny” faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591) for illegal drug activities and possession of an unlicensed firearm following a recent buy-bust operation.
