One of the most promising young stars of Gilas Pilipinas will also be taking his talents to the Japan B. League.

The steady and composed Dwight Ramos is heading to Japan and will suit up for the league’s Division I team Toyama Grouses.

Toyama Grouses’ official Twitter account trended quickly after posting Ramos’ photo with the caption “signed”.

Ramos will be joining a stacked Toyoma team who finished at the top of the division rankings but failed to clinch the championship.

After his dominant FIBA Asia and Abdullah Cup stint wearing the blue and white representing the country, Ramos’ name exploded overseas.

During his stint with Gilas during the FIBA Asia Cup, the impressive combo-guard led his team in both games against the mighty Korean squad, scoring 16 and 19 points in back-to-back wins.

Ramos will become the eighth Filipino to sign with the Japan B. League joining Kobe Paras, Thirdy and Kiefer Ravena, Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., and Kemark Cariño.
