Ex-convict, 8 others nabbed for drugs

BACOLOD City – Nine persons, including an ex-convict were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations here and in Negros Occidental from October 4 to 5.

In Sipalay City, Gerald Llego, 35, of Barangay 2 was arrested in a drug raid at the said village last Friday.

Police raided the house of Llego, who is a level two-high value target drug personality and an alleged member of Bugalon drug group in Kabankalan City. He was also convicted for murder and served time at Iwahig Penal Colony in Palawan, police records indicated.

Police recovered during the raid a hand grenade, three sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,000, a . 45-caliber pistol with a magazine and five live ammunition, an empty magazine, two fired cartridges all of the same firearm, a .38-caliber revolver, a live ammunition of the same caliber, and live ammunitions for a .9 mm caliber pistol and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Early this year, two members of the same drug group were also arrested in two separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Kabankalan and Sipalay.

In San Carlos City, Mark Diamante, 27, of Barangay Punao was also arrested at Barangay 3 that day, after he was caught allegedly in possession of a sachet of suspected shabu, two lighters, and a crumpled aluminium foil.

In Kabankalan City, target subject Angela Jacquiline Persy, 23, of Barangay 5, a level-one high value target; Jamen Tanaleon, 25, of Barangay 6, a newly-identified drug personality; and Jesryl Jompilla, 22, of Barangay 6, a newly-identified drug personality were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay 6 last Friday.

Police seized from them six sachets of suspected shabu worth P10,000, drug paraphernalia, the P500 marked money, and P2,415 cash.

Over the weekend, Virgilio Batiller, 19, of Barangay Zone-1, Cadiz City, was arrested in a drug bust at the said village last Saturday, after police confiscated from him three sachets of suspected shabu worth P6,000, and the P500 marked money.

Also arrested that day at Barangay Sum-ag here was Jomarie Loquinario after he allegedly yielded five sachets of suspected shabu worth P6,000. He is detained at Police Station 9.

Last Friday, Jason Sendon, and Henry Parrenyo were arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay 27 here, after police recovered from them seven sachets of suspected shabu worth P30,500, the P500 marked money, and an improvised tooter. He is detained at Police Station 4.
