BACOLOD City – A farmer was found dead at Bago Purok Proper, Barangay Dulao, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Rogelio Vargas, 51, of the said village.

Investigation indicated that Vargas reportedly left their house on March 11 but failed to go home that night prompting his family to search for him.

His brother found him lifeless at the canal beside the road two days later.

Police said the victim was harvesting taro at the canal last Thursday when he accidentally touched a hanging livewire and was electrocuted, based on the injuries in his left hand.

The victim’s body will be subjected to a post-mortem examination.
