ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 40-year-old farmer was fatally stabbed during a drinking session on Feb. 13 in Barangay Bangaan, Panitan, Capiz.
The Panitan police identified the victim as Jonel Dadivas of Barangay Balatucan, while the suspect was identified as Jose Noli Bustamante, 50, of Barangay Bangaan, Panitan, Capiz.
According to police investigation, Bustamante had just come from a birthday celebration when he passed by a store where another drinking session was being held.
Dadivas, who knew the suspect and the group, decided to join the gathering.
A few minutes later, a commotion broke out between Dadivas and Bustamante, which led to the stabbing incident.
Dadivas sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle after committing the crime.
The Panitan police have launched an investigation and a manhunt operation to locate the suspect.
