Filipino pool players post good start in 2021 US Open Pool Championship

Several Filipinos dominated during their opening games in the ongoing 2021 US Open Pool Championship held at the Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City.

Filipino legend Dennis Orcollo led the Filipino pack of pool players who crushed Miguel Angel Giron Mendiata of Honduras with a 9-0 score.

Meanwhile, another PH household name in the sport, Carlo Biado, asserted his mastery over Steve Fleming of the United States, 9-2.

The other Filipinos who embraced the limelight in their opening matches of the US Open Pool are Johann Chua, James Aranas, and Roland Garcia.

Chua only dropped one set against Steven Way of the US and finished their match with a 9-1 score same with Aranas against Sakura Muramatsu of Japan.

On the other hand, Roberto Gomez, had a hard time in his first match but still defeated Joseph Testa of the US, 9-7, while Warren Kiamco had to pull off some banking magic to outlast Michael Delawder of the US, 9-7.

Out of the nine Filipino participants who graced the Atlantic City, Dan Segui was the only one who received a first-round defeat against Donny Mills of US, 9-1.
