BACOLOD City – A fire killed four dogs and gutted three food stalls at the Circumferential Road in Barangay Villamonte here Sunday night.

According to Fire Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, city fire marshal, they received a fire call around 8:25 p.m.

The fire broke out from the kitchen area of Ryan Sumalde, who is one of the food stall owners, and spread to two other neighboring food stalls.

The food stalls are made of mixed concrete and light materials.

Ploteña said the blaze was initially caused by a gas leak from an LPG tank after its regulator was improperly installed.

No persons were injured, but four dogs trapped inside Sumalde’s house died in the fire. They were not able to get out of the house due to thick smoke.

Ploteña said the fire was finally quelled after an hour.

The Bureau of Fire Protection reported that more or less P100,000 worth of properties were turned to ashes.
