BACOLOD City – An early morning fire destroyed six houses and damaged another at Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Singcang-Airport here Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña, city fire marshal said the fire started around 1:30 a.m. from the house of Belenda Genaboga.
The fire immediately spread to neighboring houses made of light materials.
The other affected house owners were Romeo Santana, Toto Buhian, Dion Libosan, Joso Ameliaga, Julius Ameliaga, and Luciano Arquilos, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported.
The blaze was put out around 2:45 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, a two-storey boarding house, and three other houses were also damaged by fire at Barangays 17 and Villamonte here, respectively, over the weekend.
In Barangay 17, the fire broke out from the stock room located at the second floor of the boarding house.
The room has construction materials to be used for the renovation of the house.
The BFP estimated the damage at P200,000.
In Barangay Villamonte, two houses were destroyed while another was damaged by fire allegedly caused by an unattended candle at an altar of one of the houses
The value of damaged properties was estimated at P100,000.
