Five persons found dead in Negros Occ

BACOLOD City – Policemen reported that five persons were found dead in various areas in Negros Occidental from Dec 23 to 26, 2021.

In Cauayan town, Roger Lapus, 52, of Barangay Poblacion was found lifeless in a drainage in the village last Sunday.

Based on a police report, Lapus was walking home from a drinking session on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, when he probably drowned in the drainage due to drunkenness.

In Silay City, Edwin Rebotada, 51, of Barangay Balaring was found with fatal injuries in his body believed to be inflicted by a hard object.

In Moises Padilla town, the decomposing body of Jose Edlan Jr., 72, of Barangay Quintin Remo, was found beside a sugarcane plantation in the said village on Christmas Day.

Investigation disclosed that Edlan left their house on Dec 18, but failed to return for almost a week, according to his family.

Police said the victim was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

Meanwhile, an elderly woman and an unidentified man were also found dead in Valladolid town and San Enrique town on December 23 and 24, respectively.

The elderly woman suffered stab wounds, according to the police, while authorities have yet to determine the cause of death of the unidentified man.
